In 1960 when a scheduled singer didn’t show up to sing the lead vocals for “A Fool In Love” the topsy turvy legend of Ike & Tin Turner began.
On October 22, 1960 Ike & Tina Turner made their chart debut with the tk “A Fool In Love.” As legend has it the male singer that was picked to sing the song never showed up to the studio session and Ike nabbed the then eight months pregnant Anna Mae Bullock to lend her sultry vocals to the record. The song would reach #2 on the R&B charts and #27 on the pop charts.
