Is Beyonce Michael Jackson’s Heir Apparent?
She’s got the worldwide appeal, countless hits, and influential dance moves. Beyonce Knowles is without question one of the brightest stars of her generation. Can we expect her to fill Michael Jackson’s big shoes as the biggest pop icon of a generation?
Is Beyonce Michael Jackson’s Heir Apparent?

You can’t be serious.
Naw, I don’t think Beyonce is the heir apparent to Michael. For 1 thing, Michael had as diverse a fanbase as you can have. His fans are men, women, and kids, of all ages. Beyonce’s fanbase (although I’m a fan of her) is mostly females.
But “Is she MJ’s heir apparent” & “is she the biggest icon of her generation are obviously 2 different questions. She is probably the biggest of her generation but she can’t touch Mike with a 10 ft. pole if you’re asking, “Is she his heir apparent.” Michael’s music & impact are far superior to anything Beyonce has ever or (likely) will ever do.
AND TO TALL GIRL: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
-MICHAEL JACKSON IS ONE OF THE GREATEST VOCALISTS OF ALL TIME! HE HAS MORE POWER, SOUL, ENERGY, AND RANGE IN HIS VOICE THAN SAMMY DAVIS JUNIOR EVER DID! ITS NO COMPARISON.
-PLUS, YOU WANNA TALK ABOUT DANCING? MICHAEL IS ARGUABLY THE GREATEST DANCER WE’VE EVER SEEN. HE CAN TAP DANCE, POP LOCK, DO CLASSICAL DANCING, AND CHOREOGRAPHY. WHAT THE HELL R U TALKIN’ BOUT WILLIS…lol. C’MON SON (to quote Ed Lover)
WTF! What kind of question is this. Just because she won 6 grammys in one night doesn’t mean she is the “apparent” heir to MJ’s throne. Leave Michael Jackson out of this. He changed the face of music period (from rock to pop to musical theater to soul to new jack swing… need I continue. I agree that Beyonce has come a long way from her destiny’s child days, but she is not on MJ’s level by any stretch of the imagination. I mean really, grammys wins doesn’t exactly solidify one’s status as an icon. I mean Allison Krall has 26 grammys, yet many would never consider her to be as influential as Michael Jackson. It just simply isn’t so. Beyonce is popular now, but let’s see where she will be in 25 years. M.J. had several diamond records and life-changing songs that people from the hinterlands in seneca could relate to. He was a very smart and intelligent musician. I can’t say the same thing about Ms. Beyonce. But to each his own. I just think the comparison is ridiculous.
