Maxwell Debuts At #1

Maxwell’s BLACKsummers’night has proven to be worth the wait. After a 8 year hiatus the soul singer is back atop the Billboard charts at #1
Today is a day for neo-soulsters and R&B aficionados to celebrate as the prodigal son has returned to the top of the charts. According to Billboard.com, Maxwell’s BLACKsummers’night debuted at #1 by selling 316,000 copies. This is Maxwell’s highest selling album ever, and his second consecutive #1 debut, 2001’s “Now,” topped charts with 296,000 copies sold.
As custom, the soul singer celebrated and thanked fans via his Twitter page.
“BLACKsummers’night is the #1 ALBUM in the COUNTRY! THANK YOU 4 making it HAPPEN! I can’t IMAGINE the # if we had more RECORDS in STORES!”
