Joe Jackson was telling the truth about Michael Jackson’s final burial plans. A spokesperson for the family has confirmed the music icon will be laid to rest on his 51st birthday, August 29th.

According to TMZ.com a Jackson family spokesperson confirmed what Joe Jackson revealed to the New York Daily News about his son’s upcoming funeral. Michael Jackson will be laid to rest on August 29th 2009, on what would have been his 51st birthday. Due to an ongoing investigation in his death the body of the King of Pop has yet to be buried. The final services will be held at Holly Terrace in the Great Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday, August 29 at 10 AM. The guest list is limited to close family and friends.

In other MJ news, its being reported that the R&B singer’s mother, Katherine Jackson, is considering filing a wrongful death suit on behalf of her son.

“The possibility of a wrongful death action has been floated,” Katherine Jackson’s lawyer Burt Levitch said, the Associated Press reports. “In that regard, no decision has been finalized … “Dr. Murray’s name has been floated [as a possible defendant in the potential lawsuit] because he is under investigation.” – People.com
