By Rondell Conway
Michael Jackson can finally rest in peace. The music icon was laid to rest last night in a small ceremony in California that came 10 weeks after his death.
Though the ceremony started 90 minutes late, over 200 of his closest friends waiting patiently for Michael Jackson’s body to arrive at the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, California. While it was reported that no media was invited to the service, CNN was able to capture footage of the ceremony. Their cameras caught invited guess such as Lisa Marie Presley, Macaulay Culkin, Corey Feldman, Chris Tucker, Motown founder Barry Gordy, Quincy Jones, Teddy Riley and Elizabeth Taylor sitting among the Jackson family.
According to CNN, when the hour-long service ended, Jackson’s brothers lifted his casket to carry him inside the Great Mausoleum, where he was placed in his crypt at 9:43 p.m. PT (12:34 a.m. ET Friday). The family statement said it was “his final resting place.”
Amen!
