Stevie Wonder: Fantastic Four
Despite it’s promiscuous message, Stevie Wonder’s 1985 hit “Part-Time Lover” was well received by music lovers in various genres–four of them to be exact.
On November 2, 1985 Stevie Wonder’s “Part-Time Lover” was the #1 record pop, adult contemporary, R&B, dance/disco charts. That was the first time in history a song topped all four charts at the same time. Featured on Wonder’s 1985 album In Square Circle, the song is credited as an as an ode to The Supremes “You Can’t Hurry Love,” and “My World Is Empty Without You.”
Wonder’s In Square Circle would lose out to Phil Collins No Jacket Required in the 1986 Grammy’s Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male.
