When Tina Turner got her chance to deliver the theme song for a James Bond flick the reaction in the States wasn’t as golden as it was abroad.

On November 18, 1995 the James Bond film GoldenEye premiered with the Tina Turner theme song. The single was an instant hit in the UK, claiming top ten status in its first week. However American listeners were not as receptive, as the record only reached #89 R&B and #102 pop.
