Whitney Houston made the transition from the big stage to the big screen look easy when she made her film debut in 1992 blockbuster, The Bodyguard.

On November 25, 1992 music superstar Whitney Houston made her film debut in the romance drama The Bodyguard. The film opened nationally to huge crowds who came to see Houston play Rachel Marron, a star who is stalked by a crazed fan and hires a bodyguard-played by Kevin Costner-to protect her. The on screen chemistry between Houston and Costner helped the film to gross over $100 million. The accompanying soundtrack to the film was a hit a well. Featuring singles like “I Will Always Love You,” and “I’m Every Women” the album went on to sell over 15 million copies in the US. The worldwide sales topped 40 million.
