R&B/soul diva Whitney Houston is joining an ensemble cast of singers, which includes Usher and Lionel Richie to record “Will You Be There” a remake/tribute song for Michael Jackson.

According to TMZ.com the wife of CNN newsman Larry King, Shawn, has brought together an A-list team of artist to record a tribute song for Michael Jackson. The group, which includes Whitney Houston, Usher, Dionne Warwick, Wyclef, Jermaine Jackson, John Mayer, and Lionel Richie will remake Jackson’s 1993 hit “Will You Be There”. Jennifer Hudson who performed the song at Jackson’s memorial last month has not been confirmed to participate in the project.

The proceeds from the song will be split 50/50 between The Larry King Cardiac Foundation and an unspecified charity in Jackson’s honor.

It’s really getting hard to keep up with all the MJ tributes. Glad to see the big dogs came out for this one. Wonder if anyone can get Prince to partake in a MJ tribute?
