Who Is The Biggest Boss In Music?

LA Reid

Happy Boss’s Day! If you want to earn some brownie points with the big cheese do something nice. Before that, let’s figure out the biggest boss in music.

When we say biggest we don’t mean in size, stature, or bank account. We’re talking about the high profile honcho who’s making the biggest impact on music with a roster of artists who deliver dope music. Guys like LA Reid, who runs things at the R&B music machine that is Island/Def Jam. He’s got The Dream, Mariah Carey, Ne-Yo, Kanye West, and Rihanna ruling the charts. Then there’s the old vet Clive Davis, who has brought us the great Whitney Houston, the wonderful Alicia Keys, and multi-talented Jennifer Hudson. Of course we have Universal Records’ Sylvia Rhone the first female to run a major label. Her roster boast, hit-maker Akon, new sensation Drake, plus upstarts Melanie Fiona and Jay Sean. Finally there’s Jimmy Iovine. His Interscope label is a rap powerhouse, but is also the home to Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole, Lady Gaga, and Keri Hilson.

You make the call?

A. LA Reid
